How a Pawn Shop works

- How to Buy, Sell or Borrow

Your visit to a pawnshop should be fast, easy, convenient and most importantly, confidential.

A Pawn Shop Serves three basic functions:

Money from Pawned Items
  • Borrow money by putting up collateral (this is called pawning)
  • Sell used merchandise.
  • Buy new and used merchandise.

This is how a pawn works:

  • You bring in an item to Family Loan Center.
  • We will appraise your item in order to offer you top dollar.
  • We will give you cash on the spot in exchange for your item.
  • You have up to 4 months and 10 days to repay the principal (amount loaned) plus interest, in order to reclaim your item.
  • If you are unable to repay your balance, you can simply make a payment on the interest and extend the loan for an additional 4 months and 10 days. You can extend the loan as often as you like.
  • If you do not repay or extend the loan, your item is forfeited.

Come visit us or feel free to contact us with any questions. Our friendly staff can handle all your business needs and provide you with the best care in town.
